Getting the maximum value
from your timber is our goal

English Woodlands Forestry recognise that getting the maximum value from your timber is essential.   We also know the importance of timber operations being completed to the best possible standard with regard for health and safety, the environment and the long-term vitality and value of the wood.

As part of the Land and Forest Group Ltd , English Woodlands Forestry has unique links to contractors and timber markets and can ensure that we simultaneously get the best price for your wood products and maintain high quality of operations.

  • Harvesting & extraction

Our affiliated harvesting team use state of the art technology which provides unique transparency of operational output by allowing us to account for every tree felled and every load of timber extracted.

  • Expert advice

Our team of qualified foresters can advise on differing silvicultural systems and undertake mensuration of your timber accordingly to estimate its value.

  • Timber sales

Our long-standing direct relationships with sawmills nationally helps us to find the best market whether it be sawlogs for milling, hardwood for firewood or chipwood for biomass. We also work with several contractors specialising in chestnut coppice with excellent access to fencing markets.

  • Code of conduct

We conduct a rigorous protocol of operational assessments, supervision and reinstatement (if required when the job is complete). No timber harvesting job is undertaken without the correct felling permissions or without thorough health and safety checks, signage, hazard mapping, ecological surveys and continual supervision. We recognise the importance of leaving a woodland in the best condition possible.

  • Designated land

We are also experienced at organising timber operations on sensitive areas such as SSSIs, Scheduled Monuments, Public Rights of Way, National Parks, or in tree disease demarcation zones.

  • Timber security & accountability

Timber security and accountability is key. During operations, we can provide weekly self-billing invoices for timber movement and a secure chain of custody for the produce harvested from your site.
